God has a Church For You

Ephesians 2:19,22 You belong to God’s family. You believers are like a building that God owns. That building was built on the foundation that the apostles and prophets prepared. Christ Jesus himself is the most important stone in that building. The whole building is joined together in Christ, and he makes it grow and become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Christ you are being built together with his other people. You are being made into a place where God lives through the Spirit.

“Church” – for many, it’s one of those words that has a serious brand-image problem these days. And I get that, but at the same time this whole church thing is actually God’s idea. So, what do we do with that?

These days people go out church shopping, trying to find the church that’s the best fit for them. The style of worship songs, the age and socio-economic demographic, the preacher … all sorts of things come into play as we weigh up this church against the next.

But I wonder how often we actually get down on our knees, cry out to God and ask Him

God, which church do you want me to become part of? Show me the people who need the sort of love that I have to give. Show me the place where they need someone who has the giftings that I do.

Hmmm. I wonder.

Perhaps you belong to a church. Perhaps you don’t. Perhaps you’re out there looking right now. Wherever you’re at in your walk with God, know this: God has a church ready and waiting for you. He knows where you fit, where you belong.

Ephesians 2:19-22 You belong to God’s family.

He knows where you belong. All we need to do is ask: Lord where do I belong?

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
