Sisanda Mcimeli
Date of birth ?
17 December
What Year did you begin at Radio CCfm?
2008
What did you want to be when you were little?
A clown and a scientist (and I think the president as some stage!)
What is your dream?
To head up a media and entertainment empire for the glory of God.
Who has influenced you most?
I’ve fortunately been surrounded by the most passionate, loving, driven and God fearing people, so it would be impossible to single out one.
Why a presenter at CCFM?
I love conversing and inspiring people through discussion. CCFm offers me this opportunity, and the fact that our goal is to reach out to those who don’t know Christ yet makes the conversation even more worthwhile!
Your greatest fear?
Being kidnapped or held hostage!
What makes you laugh?
Mildred (a hilarious friend of mine)
What angers you?
Violence perpetrated against the defenceless for no reason and the current situation in Zimbabwe and the DRC!
What's the best piece of advice you've received?
If I don’t venture out I will remain ordinary as long as I live. If I dare the impossible then God will do abundantly far above all I can think or ask. Life is for the living, not for dreaming.
Your Most embarrassing moment ?
Burping on air!
Your biggest triumph?
Bouncing back after being excluded from chemical engineering at UCT and stepping into God’s dream for me – media and journalism
What is your favourite verse in the Bible and who is your favourite Bible character?
My favourite character is Mary Magdalene. Despite the many issues that she had whenever we come across this woman in the Bible she is at the feet of Jesus, a place I treasure. My favourite verse...that’s a tough one, I have so many. One of them is in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weakness and insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” Without Jesus, I am nothing and I am not ashamed to admit that because of all that he has done for me.
What do you do when you are not behind/in front of the microphone at CCFM?
I am a journalist-in-training, a recording artist, a news reader, a teacher and a voice over artist...the list goes on.
What was the BEST moment of your life?
That is still to come...
Which season is your favourite, and why?
Summer (in Cape Town) I love the late sunsets

NO! It messes up my hair
What do you think about Cape Town's people?
